A SOLD OUT SUCCESS

Despite two unexpected COVID cases throughout a week of sold-out shows, Ludus triumphed this holiday season! Reviews have been overwhelmingly positive and more importantly,  the performances  raised over $200 for Midnight Mission, LA’s oldest continuously operating human service organization. Shortly after closing, Ludus also received word that the grant application Helen submitted to the School of Dramatic Arts was accepted. Next semester, Ludus will receive $500 to support their spring productions (twice what Helen initially asked for) and a venue with full tech (The Stop Gap Theater) here at USC!

Ludus is Home for the Holidays!

That’s right, Helen has directed and produced USC’s latest sketch, improv, and clowning show for your comedic pleasure. As president of Ludus Remedium, they’ve spent this semester martialing their enormously talented and equally hilarious troupes to write original content premiering this Sunday Nov 12th, Friday Nov 17th and Sunday Nov 19th at the Ronald Tutor Campus Center!

Wait... we're performing IN GREEK?!

This week Helen and Mr. Freeze toured with OYL Theater Company through the mountains of Greece, performing an original production of Medea. The past two months have been a magical blur, memorizing hundreds of lines in Greek, choreographing the show based on dramaturgical research, and even arranging several songs to accompany the show (Mr. Freeze came in handy afterall!). This has been a profound experience for Helen, forming deep bonds and discovering new skills they will hold dear for a lifetime.

Helen Hits the Road

Helen has just been accepted as an apprentice in the OYL Theater Company Summer Program! They’re thrilled to spend the next two months devising a production of Medea in Japan, India, and Greece. And you better believe, wherever Helen goes, so does their trusty electric harp, Mr. Freeze!
